  14. Overview

  16. P/ST Graphics allows Portfolio screen graphics to be viewed and translated on
  17. ST computers.  Both PGF and PGC file formats (created by Don Messerli of 
  18. Software Vineyard) are supported.  P/ST can translate files from one format to
  19. the other.

  23. Starting P/ST Graphics

  25. P/ST Graphics is a GEM based program designed to be executed from the desktop.
  26. Double click on the program's icon (PSTGR.PRG) to start the program.  A dialog
  27. box will be displayed which contains buttons that allow you to choose a file
  28. to read/display or write.

  32. Using P/ST Graphics

  35. There are six action buttons in the main dialog box:
  36.  
  37.     1.  Read PGC--This button prompts for and reads a PGC compressed
  38.         file.  The file is checked for a correct header within
  39.         the file, and will display an error message in the Status:
  40.         box if the file is not a PGC file.
  41.  
  42.     2.  Write PGC--This button will compress and write the image
  43.         currently displayed in the main dialog box to a PGC file.

  45.     3.  Read PGF--This button prompts for and reads a PGF file.  Since
  46.         PGF files are simple bit images, _any_ file may be read and
  47.         displayed with this command.  Non-PGF files (such as text,
  48.         wordprocessing, or other data files) will most likely
  49.         appear as random dots in the main dialog.

  51.     4.  Write PGC--this button writes the image currently displayed in
  52.         the main dialog box to a PGF file.

  54.     5.  About...--This button produces an informational display
  55.         about P/ST Graphics, and how to contact the author
  56.         with comments or questions.

  58.     6.  Exit--This button ends this session of Calendar Printer.

  60. The Status: box provides information about P/ST Graphics' current activities,
  61. and also displays error messages.
